ALMA Membership
ALMA was initially established to provide for the needs and education of GPs and Allied Professionals accredited to provide services under the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care system (EPC). However, other allied health professionals will be considered 'at the discretion of the committee'.
Different categories of membership will also be available for qualified but non-accredited practitioners such as fitness leaders, dietary aids etc.
Who can become a member of ALMA?
Ordinary member
Is a health Professional who falls under the following:
Aboriginal Health Worker
Asthma Educator
Health Educator
Chiropractor
Chiropodists
Dentist
Diabetes Educator
Dietician
Exercise Physiologist
General Practitioner
Medical Practitioner
Mental Health Worker
Occupational Therapist
Optometrist
Osteopath
Pharmacist
Physiotherapist
Psychologist
Podiatrist
Registered (or Practice) Nurse
or is determined by the committee from time to time.
Membership Includes:
Ordinary members receive full membership services and have the right to vote at Association meetings and elections and stand for election in line with relevant rules of the association provided they remain financial.
Ordinary membership is only offered to individuals and not practices or companies
Ordinary members may apply for student status which may allow reduced subscription fees
Associate member
Any health care professional, researcher or educator who supports the objectives of the Association will be eligible for membership, or is determined by the committee from time to time.
