Conference Aims

The Australian Lifestyle Medicine Association (ALMA) is a multi-disciplinary health association aimed at supporting the team care management of lifestyle-related health problems by GPs and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs).

The aims of the ALMA conference, in line with those of the association are to;

The association is open to GPs and all Health Professionals dealing with lifestyle related problems.

Conference Format

To preserve the practicality of the conference, presentations will be divided into expert plenaries (invited speakers) and short papers, submitted 'experience presentations' and 'tales from the trenches' (5 mins per person).

What is Lifestyle Medicine?

Lifestyle medicine is defined as;… the application of environmental, behavioural, medical and motivational principles to the management of lifestyle-related health problems in clinical practice. (Egger, Binns and Rossner, 'Lifestyle Medicine' Mc-Graw Hill, 2008)

Conference Details

Registration will be from 6pm Friday 12th March; Introductory drinks will be provided and the opening plenary 7-9pm. Conference sessions will run from 8.30am to 5.40pm Saturday and 8.30am to close at 1.00pm Sunday.
